Heliopsis helianthoides

Early Sunflower is very versatile, doing well in full to part sun, and wet to moderately dry soil.  It has cheery yellow flowers on 4’ stems from June-September.  The nectar & pollen attract a wide variety of insects, including bees, bumblebees, butterflies, moths and skippers, while songbirds eat the seeds.
