Verbena stricta

Hoary Vervain has lovely blue flower spikes July-September that complement many other native plants and grasses in bloom at the same time.  It prefers full to part sun, average to dry soil, and is usually about 2’ tall.   Many pollinators use the plant, and birds eat the seeds.   Often a short-lived perennial, it will readily self-seed.
