Carex sprengelii
Long-beaked sedge is a clumping sedge, preferring part to full shade and average soil. Its growth begins early in the spring and gets about 2’ tall. Long-beaked sedge is a larval host plant for several species of butterflies and moths, and Wild Turkey, Eastern Towhee, and several sparrow species eat the seeds.
