Like the Compass Plant, Prairie Dock is an outstanding plant in the landscape, often reaching heights of 9’ or more. Prairie Dock prefers full sun and deep, loamy soil, and moist to dry conditions. Honeybees, bumblebees, and other pollinators enjoy visiting the flowers July-September. Prairie Dock was a favorite food of American Bison.
